Everything you need to know about translating with linq.
Platform features
Q. Which file formats are supported?
linq supports Microsoft Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), PDF, and Hangul Word Processor (.hwpx) formats. Tables, images, fonts, bullet points, and other formatting elements are preserved throughout the translation process.
Q. Which languages are supported?
linq supports translation across more than 40 languages, including Korean, English, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Russian, and Vietnamese.
Q. What are the Free plan limits?
The Free plan supports up to 100 pages per 30-day period with a 64MB file size limit. Paid plans expand these limits significantly.
Q. How accurate are linq's translations?
linq uses the latest frontier large language models to deliver translations that preserve the original meaning, tone, and formatting. For industry-specific or proprietary terminology, the Glossary feature lets you enforce consistent, pre-approved terms across every translation.
Q. What is a glossary and how do I use it?
A glossary is a custom dictionary of terms and approved translations that linq applies automatically, keeping your terminology consistent across all documents. Create a glossary in your dashboard, then add terms manually or upload them via CSV, and select the glossary you want right before starting a translation. Each glossary is configured for a specific language direction (for example, English to Korean).
Q. Is the translated file the same format as the original?
Yes. linq preserves your original layout. Your translated file downloads in the same format as the source file (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, or HWPX), keeping all tables, images, fonts, and structural layout intact.
Q. How long does a translation take?
Processing speed depends on the size and complexity of the document, but most standard files finish within seconds. Larger files may take a few minutes, and you can monitor progress in real time from your dashboard.
Security and data
Q. How are uploaded files secured?
All uploaded files are encrypted in transit using TLS and stored in AWS S3 with AES-256 encryption. Infrastructure is hosted on AWS (certified to ISO 27001 and SOC 2) with Cloudflare for additional network security.
Q. Are uploaded files used to train AI models?
No. linq operates under a strict no-training policy. Uploaded source files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing, while translated files are retained for 1 to 30 days depending on your plan before deletion.
Q. Is linq compliant with data-protection regulations?
Data privacy is our top priority. linq runs on infrastructure that is ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified, and we comply with rigorous data-protection standards, including the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), to guarantee strict confidentiality and security for all corporate data.
Q. How do I delete my account and data?
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from your account settings, or by contacting our support team at support@qtailab.com. Once processed, your files, glossaries, and personal history are permanently removed from our systems.
Billing and pricing
Q. How do I subscribe to an Enterprise plan?
Enterprise plans include on-premises deployment, SSO integration, dedicated account management, and a service-level agreement. Please contact the linq sales team through the Contact page to begin the procurement process.
Q. How are credits consumed?
Credits are counted in pages: one credit equals one page, and credits are deducted based on the total page length of the source document. For spreadsheets, one page is counted as 10,000 text cells.
Q. How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account's billing settings. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew.
Q. Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled in accordance with our Terms of Service and applicable consumer protection law. To request a refund, please contact our support team through the Contact page.
Q. Can I change my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account's billing settings. Changes take effect according to your billing cycle.
Q. Do unused pages roll over to the next period?
Your page allowance resets every 30 days, and unused pages do not carry over to the next billing cycle.
Q. Is there a free trial?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 100 pages every 30 days at no cost, and paid tiers such as Pro offer a 30-day free trial so you can test advanced features. You can cancel anytime during the trial to avoid charges.
Q. What happens when I reach my page limit?
Once you reach your plan's page limit, translation pauses until your next billing cycle resets. To continue right away, you can upgrade your plan or purchase add-on credits. You will never face unexpected overage charges.
Team and API
Q. How does Team plan billing work?
The Team plan is billed per seat. Each seat adds 2,000 pages per 30 days to a shared organizational balance, and all members get access to unlimited shared team glossaries. Workspace admins can add or remove seats anytime from the dashboard.
Q. Can I share glossaries with my team?
Yes. On the Team plan, glossaries are shared automatically across all members, so your entire team translates with the same approved terminology.
Q. Does linq offer an API?
Yes. linq provides a translation API for integrating translation into your own systems and workflows. API access is available on the Enterprise plan. See our API documentation or contact our sales team for integration details.
